This is a waitlist stub. A lawyer will rewrite it before paid listings go live. It describes what the site does today, not a finished marketplace.
What this site is
Link Cable is a home for Game Boy and Game Boy Color indie games. The public site is a waitlist, sample pages, and accounts. There is no checkout and no ROM downloads yet.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist we store:
- Your email address
- Whether you said player or creator. That only changes the confirm email.
- The time you joined
If you tap a Game Boy Color on the homepage we store a random id from your browser and the color you picked. That is not tied to an email or account.
If you create an account we also store an email, a password hash (Better Auth on Convex), a public handle, a display name, and an optional bio. We do not ask for a payment method yet.
How we use it
We use waitlist addresses to confirm you are on the list and to email you when the catalog opens. Account email is for signing in. We do not sell the list. We do not run ads against it.
Who processes it
The waitlist and accounts live in Convex. Confirm and auth mail goes out through Resend, from info@linkcable.games, when that key is set. If it is not set, we still store the row and skip the email.
On your device
The light / dark toggle is stored in the browser (next-themes). The Game Boy Color vote keeps a random id in local storage so you can change your pick. We do not use those as a profile. Sample blog pages and the waitlist form do not set advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Waitlist rows stay until we migrate people into accounts, or until you ask us to delete the address. Account rows stay until you ask us to delete them. Email info@linkcable.games.
When this will change
Accounts, library history, Stripe Checkout, and ROM files will collect more than an email. This page will be rewritten before those features ship. See also the terms.
